Promo codes let you run a discount without changing your list prices. A guest enters the code in the Promo Code field on the booking review step, and if it's valid the discount is applied to their subtotal before taxes and fees.
When a code is applied, the price breakdown updates live — the guest sees a "Discount" line and a new total, and a small "Coupon applied" confirmation appears. If the code is wrong or expired, they get a clear error and the original price stays put.
Use codes for the obvious wins: a launch offer to seed your first bookings, a returning-guest thank-you, or a partner referral. Because the guest types the code themselves, you control exactly who gets the deal — share it only where you want it used.
Keep codes short and memorable, and decide up front how long each one should run. A code with a clear name and end date is easy to promote and easy to retire.
Discounts apply to the trip subtotal, so the guest still sees taxes and the processing fee calculated on the discounted amount. This keeps your math transparent and avoids surprises at confirmation.
